We are delighted to present our next production for
Kulin By Night 2016:
"And tell Mum..."
reflections of a small town and a great war.
Performance dates: 22nd, 23rd, 24th April 2016
Where: Kulin War Memorial
“And tell Mum…" is an original theatrical performance reflecting on the stories and experiences of the men and women from the small country towns in and around Kulin who find themselves having to come to terms with the outbreak of a world war so soon after their little community had just got started. Drawing upon authentic official and personal historical records and recollections of the people - past and present - the performance traces their struggles to face the impacts and effects this war would have on their lives forever; their determination to never give up and to always embrace moments of joy.
Supported by live music (from former members of WASO and TSO), and held outside under the stars and among the gum trees surrounding the beautiful Kulin Memorial, the performance will be enchanting and poignant. The event is being promoted State wide and is part of the National Heritage Festival.
This is a paid production and all performers will be required to stay for 4 nights in Kulin during the season. All transport and accommodation costs will be met by the Shire of Kulin and Scooplight Theatre. Rehearsals will be in Perth, with a final tech and dress and a full run held in Kulin leading up to opening night
We will be casting 4 males and 2 females, age range 18-50.
Auditions will be held at the
